I'm not here to give you

more band-aid solutions.

I’m here to help you reclaim your life from the IBS-stress cycle for good.

It all started when I realized my ongoing quest to pinpoint the exact food that was causing my IBS to trigger was only sending me to anxietyville.

Let me give you a little background.

All of my life I have struggled with persistent digestive symptoms, obsessive thinking, anxiety, and indecision.

Seriously, my mom says I had tummy issues as an infant. As a kid I remember having chronic constipation, stomach ache complaints, and lots of bathroom anxiety. This worsened as a teenager, in which I would go for days without having a bowel movement, and my extreme bloating made me look pregnant and feel miserable.

Through this I was also navigating body image issues, disordered eating, and began a habit of overexercising. My schedule was full, I was obsessed with my to-do list, and never wanted to miss out on a social event. I was always doing, doing, doing. Being stressed out all the time became a norm, to the point where I developed shingles. Anxiety and depression were everyday hurdles. My friends and family would make fun of me for never being able to make a decision. Even a simple one like what to order at a restaurant could become an anxiety induced emotional moment.

I grew up eating a standard American diet, so I was lucky to discover the world of natural and organic foods at sixteen while working my first job at a food co-op. That’s when I first made connections between the quality of food and the health of my body. I experimented with my first elimination diet, and found supplements that helped. Finally, I had found relief! This is what sent me into the world of nutritional therapy, and I dove deep into it over the next twelve years.

Learning about nutrition and what supports and fuels my body best has been one of the most important things in my life. It is absolutely vital to my well-being on every level.

However, I started to notice that no matter how clean I ate, even if it initially helped, my digestive symptoms would creep back in.

No matter how many top quality supplements I would take, I would continue to experience extreme bloating, gas, incomplete bowel movements, and of course, anxiety and overwhelm.

But how could this be? I am doing all the things! I had been diving so deep into digestive health - all the podcasts, readings, articles, and content. I was obsessed and so in control about it (ahem, cue more anxiety).

I had tried:
  • Numerous elimination diets
  • Cleanses and fasts
  • Low FODMAP diet
  • AIP (autoimmune paleo)
  • GAPS
  • Grain-free
  • Low-carb/keto
  • Candida diet
  • All the supplement protocols
  • Numerous stool tests
  • Worked with many naturopaths, holistic practitioners, and bodyworkers

Many of these were extremely helpful. Yet, I kept finding dysbiosis, overgrowth, and overall imbalance in my gut. I kept finding myself overwhelmed, anxious, and so lost in my head.

I began to bring things into my life to support my mental health and spiritual growth, such as regular journaling, nature connection, meditation, and yoga. I explored di erent healing arts such as reiki, ecstatic dance, craniosacral therapy, and plant medicine. These have also all been extremely valuable and important in my healing. However, I was still struggling with my symptoms.

The missing piece was in my nervous system.

My system was still over-activated in sympathetic (fight or flight) all the time, and therefore I could never truly heal. All the wonderful diets, supplements, and healing arts were helpful, but while I was dysregulated in my nervous system, they were only going to do so much. Once I had this realization, I started to understand exactly why I developed these symptoms in my childhood, and how they still plagued me in adulthood.

Understanding this has been the most important thing in finding relief from my digestive symptoms and overwhelmed brain. Learning how to support my nervous system, tune into my body, process stuck emotions and past traumas, and decide from my my intuition (gut-brain) has transformed my life and my health.
